The specifications of the upcoming Canon EOS 50D DSLR have been leaked onto the internet, by Canon themselves. The details appeared on Canon’s China website, despite it being only a brief amount of time before the link had been disabled, telling us what the camera had to offer. In a couple words, you can say that it’s a decent 15.1MP camera, featuring a standard 1.6x CMOS sensor factor, with a 95% view viewfinder, 9-segment AF/AE sensor array, shooting at ISO 100 to 3200, with an “expansion” to 6400 and 12800. But that’s not all. There’s also face recognition auto focus, 6.3fps, high-speed shooting, 14-bit image processing by the Digic 4 processor, and an HDMI output to top it all off. To know about more about the less-technical stuff like prices and release dates, we’ll have to wait.

This new Sandisk 32GB SDHC card gives you plenty of space for HD video, but we’ll see if it’s Class 4 speed rating holds under pressure. Good news, the card is driving down memory prices, even though it costs $349 itself, but is still half as much as Toshiba’s model a few months back. Released in April. By then, some camera will need such a huge memory capacity.
